Life is constantly changing! You like to feel confidant and serene, during calm times and challenging moments.
I can totally relate. I'm Sarah, designer and owner of Beads by Beardslee. I've always been an artist (I'm a musician by training), and have always needed the arts to guide me through life, no matter what was occurring at any given time. I opened my business to help others have that confidence too. I design my pieces to make the wearer feel special, as well as have their well being in mind. I love lots of color, which I incorporate into many of my creations.
Many of my designs are inspired by history, nature, and the well being of my clients. Being self taught has let me be creative using different media, with an occasional class to add to my repertoire. I am always making something new! In the last few years, I have added crystal healing jewelry to my collection. One of my best friends, who accompanies me on many of my excursions to bead shows and gem shows, is a Reiki Master and Crystal Healer. She started teaching me about the properties of the healing powers in crystals, and how best to use them, while walking through the events we attended. Under her tutelage, I have become proficient in how to heal with crystals, and add them to many of my creations. My hope is to help others physically, mentally, and emotionally, when they wear my healing crystal designs.
I've always had a passion for jewelry design. When I first opened my business, several of my childhood friends reminded me of pieces I had made for them as far back as elementary school! After grade school, life went in different directions, and I focused more on my music. Years later, when my daughter was 8 years old, she took an after school program on jewelry making. I distinctly remember her coming home after a session and saying "Mom, this is really fun. You should try it!" So we bought some basic supplies, and off we went! After trying different techniques, and working on them together, we launched our business 6 months later, in 2009. She continued working with me until high school, when her schedule just got too busy to continue.
I embrace the past by designing pieces with historical reference. My crystal healing jewelry uses nature's own gifts to provide well being to every wearer. When you wear one of my designs, you'll exude confidence, while feeling tranquil.
